Migrants & Communities is a sociology course at the University of Utah that explores the experiences of contemporary migrant populations including immigrants, refugees, displaced persons, and internal migrants. As part of the class, students complete an in-depth interview with an immigrant friend, neighbor, relative, coworker, or acquaintance, exploring their biography and experiences of immigration and integration. Immigrant Portraits is a collection of the projects created by students to share the stories they found and serves as a documentation of lived experiences of migration.
